Following on quite nicely from my last post on Spring, I wanted to share some snaps from Sketch, a quirky 18th-century townhouse tea room that transforms into a fun bar every evening and has its blush pink meets copper combo at its best.
Sketch is a bit of a maze with each room more whimiscal than the next. For me, there is nothing more special than the iconic main room… think pink on pink on pink. Designed by India Mahdavi, the room is elegant and playful with an almost bourgeois feel, sugar-coated in powder pink. The walls are filled with David Shrigley’s quirky artworks. India incorporated custom-made Bidendum-like brasserie style chairs and matching banquettes upholstered in cotton velvet. These sit upon a chevron-patterned multicoloured herringbone floor and everything is tied together with elegant copper table lights and a bold copper bar.
I’m a fan, I don’t know who isn’t!
