Petersham Nurseries is without a doubt one of my favourite places in the world. It is a tranquil oasis and seedbed of inspiration for a creative mind like mine, and a little place of calm away from the hustle and bustle of central London, thriving upon nature and positive living. A refuge from city life, Petersham Nurseries has a large glasshouse restaurant with the most delicious farm-to-table food, a little gift shop that is never good for my wallet, and a cosy teahouse with home-baked treats. I really wanted to share this place with you all before christmas because there is no place that does festivities better. Each year, in the lead up to christmas, they host fun, festive workshops, but be quick because they always sell out! I wanted to share some photos from a recent wreath making workshop I went to. We made our wreaths with a selection of British grown flowers and foraged foliage with Thomas Broom-Hughes and Amanda Brame to help us along the way. It was a morning of celebrating the finest seasonal foliage, mosses and berries. It wasn’t as easy as I thought but I was certainly happy with the result! I incorporated pine cones, berries, cinamon sticks and dried oranges and used a whole variety of Fir and Pine sprigs. See future workshops here and take a look at their online store here for the most elegant festive homeware.
